I think my calling in life is to be a professional mover

So... on Tuesday we find out that our landlord is selling our condo, and as of Sept 1/06 we don't have a home. The news really couldn't suck more... especially cause we LOVE our place, I've moved 5x since 2004, and I'm defending my thesis in Sept or Oct. A move isn't exactly something either of us had in mind. So now, the housing search has begun again... a stressful and painful experience.

Oh... also, the landlord informs us that hopefully whoever buys the place will need tenants. Great... but the thing is that obviously he's going to go for whoever will pay more and not who will give us a place to live. We already had someone in last night looking at the place, and it's pretty obvious that they knew the place was for sale before us...

Not that I'm bitter or anything!

So yesterday was bad... oh, and the cat threw up 8x in the morning... so that wasn't too much fun either.

Ok... let's hope this negative energy will improve my frisbee skills tonight!

Golf: Stress Reliever or Stress Inducer

So yesterday was a beautiful day out, and when Dave got home from school we decided to go out to the driving range again. I've been out about 4x to the driving range already, and now have a set of ladies clubs so I'm not trying to use Dave's anymore. The improvement was not great, but I finally found some consistency yesterday and had some good shots.

So, we decided to play a round of 9 holes... and I didn't do so bad at all... minus a couple bad slices.

What I don't understand is why golf can be a great stress reliever some days and a stress inducer on other days... I just never know when to play. Am I going to come home with a case of tourette's syndrome because I can't seem to hit the ball, or am I going to be cool, calm and collected?? One never knows... We'll see how the next round goes.

I am now considering the possibility of buying clubs since I'm using my Mom's 1970's clubs that are quite questionable...

We will see...

Thesis Hell

Another month and a bit rolls by and I haven't posted a thing! I think I stink at this blog thing... oh well...

Right now I'm in the middle of analyzing my data for my thesis.. a process that could kill an average person. Actually.. the analysis is better than the on-going transcription.. typing in 'ums', 'likes', 'justs', 'you knows'.. that I have missed along the way. It's killer. The analysis itself is a bit hazy... I try to write down all my thoughts and then try to fit everything into themes.... which are broad and I don't even know if they make sense. However, with a little help from my advisors, I'm sure I'll be on the right track soon enough.

With this thesis being the only thing I have left now... I find myself a little bored. I'm done teaching... well just have to mark my students' exams at the end of April.. but the summer will be all about finishing this damn thing. Not that I hate my thesis by any means... I love the data and the research and hopefully what I will get out of it... what will unfold... but I kind of hate not having a step-by-step procedure to follow... That's what I get for choosing qualitative research.

Other than that... life goes on
